"This topic was automatically closed 30 days after the last reply." ...Really? O_o

“This topic was automatically closed 30 days after the last reply.”

Can we please not do this?? If a thread is closed without a resolution or explanation, I would call that a waste of resources, time, bandwidth and CPU cycles.

If a thread is STILL relevant, even after 5 years, it should be unlocked. Having said that, if a thread is still valid after 5 years, something about ‘community feedback’ isn’t quite working… Unless that’s the aim?? The fact that Brave have enforced the closing of threads after a paltry 30 days of inactivity is VERY telling… I looks like you don’t want to be bothered by discussions that have been unresolved.

Pathetic and VERY telling.

This is possibly one of the worst ‘support’ forums I have ever had to increase my personal attack surface area for.

Also, maybe go through the uncategorised section (which has over 13000 posts!) and create topics for the more common ones? Alternatively, allow posters to add/suggest categories which were overlooked in the initial forum design?

Still so much to do, yet so little is being done :cry:

@another_user_acount Brave support has only a handful of people handling millions of users, and things change from one release to another.

When users don’t respond, there’s not much that can be done. Often, something broken in one version may be fixed in another. If users don’t update their posts, it’s assumed the issue is resolved or they moved on.

Another issue is that threads can get hijacked or go off-topic. Plus, some users create multiple topics and posts, sometimes ignoring the help offered.

A recent example of someone creating multiple topics and yet stopped responding to someone from Brave trying to help them:

The combination of it all leads it to closing up topics as they become inactive, thus allowing people and Support to focus on the people who are actively having issues.

Oh, I also should add…you see all the new topics people are making all for the same issue, right? It’s almost like people are incapable of taking the time to search for answers to issues and never read anything that is given.

But tell me, should people have to reply to every single one of these topics? Especially if they are duplicate topics where answers have already been given?

And should they be left open for months or years, even when the current issue is resolved?

If you honestly think it should, I challenge you to try doing it for a while. I’ve been at it for over a year now and have come to realize people just don’t pay attention and it takes a lot of time and effort to reply to things. (Do keep in mind, I don’t work for Brave and don’t get paid for helping people here, so that’s at least one small influence on my opinion here)

@another_user_acount,
Thanks for the feedback — will consider what you’ve brought up. That being said “increasing your personal attack surface area” is not particularly helpful to anyone, nor appreciated by the ~5 team members that work extremely hard to keep up with the literal thousands of new threads that get posted every single week.
