So today morning suddenly my browser won’t open, every time i click on the shortcut it displays a white screen for a few milliseconds and crashes. I looked up old solutions from the previous threads but nothing seems to work. The only way it opens is when I set --profile-directory="Test Profile" in Target Properties. Here are some of the Local Crash Contexts:
Hey, I have the same issue after the recent v1.68.128 update on Windows 11 64bit.
Didn’t want to open a seperate ticket, so I post in this thread.
I resarted my Browser to install this update and now it won’t open anymore.
No white screen for me, though. Just nothing. My mouse cursor gets the loading animation and then stops after a split second. Can’t see anything in task manager.
I can launch Brave when I right click and open a “new private window”.
But then I’m missing my extensions and settings.
Already reinstalled the recent update over my existing installation, but that didn’t help. Also tried deactivating antivirus and firewall.
I’m sending this from Chrome, which opens up fine.
The latest crash for me was:
|385c685f-845d-470c-a5d6-ba9c2d615c9b|
Okay, so a solution was provided in another topic.
It’s a workaround until they patch it in a new update.
I used notepad++ to edit the file and brave is running again on my end.
