Yes, but the question is which one? And no, it’s not within Brave. It would be your device and graphics card settings. There are plenty of topics on issues surrounding YouTUbe, Twitch, graphics cards, etc. We even have plenty of topics here on Community, if you’d Search Before Posting . As stated earlier though, there’s no one magic answer and it can be tricky to know which setting(s) would be causing problem for you.
If you have issues, especially with Hardware Acceleration enabled, then it means either your graphics card is trash or your settings are restricting behavior. Challenge is going through your settings to see how they differ and also making sure all drivers are updated.
Each of these are different symptoms and may not read exactly as you’re mentioning, but it’s kind of critical to look.
Some examples of posts can be seen below:
@Napert this has been reported already and I’m not sure if much to be done. You can check Github at https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/23254
I’ll tag @Mattches on it in case he can respond more later and maybe get it to devs attention. However, I’m going to assume it’s mainly Nvidia you need to contact. Earlier this year on that Github, person responded with info below:

I’ll also direct you to a similar topic that was created, which might have some helpful info for you:

i was having i think the same issue, though i’d like to add that i was also experiencing some overall text fuzzyness in every aspect of the browser, browser settings included. a google spreadsheet when scrolled would often leave a previous frame or two overlapping with the new, making some extreme visual bugginess. i think this was what was happening with the text to make it fuzzy sometimes, like i had mentioned.
But, i think its fixed now!
the option that fixed it was 4. option 3 made it …
@Saoiray ok, I think we could say that the problem is solved!
I changed the default selection of the graphics for Brave, adjusting it to make it similar to edge, chrome etc. (integrated intel graphics) and… no more throttling! It was a problem related to the configuration of 3d settings.
I did a few tests with brave only and then with edge etc, no more overheating.
What can I say… Thank you very much!!! I am really grateful to you and @Mattches for your help! …
I’ve had a few issues with video and media playback in Brave on my nvidia. As was suggested, exempting Brave from the “Global Settings” you have helped me solve my issues. I believe Vsync and MFAA were my main culprits. But with its own application profile in your nvidia settings you can disable all settings and toggle them on one-by-one until you see what’s causing the issue. Hope that helps!
Pretty weird, I have just restored Nvidia 3D default Settings and that seems to have “magically” fixed all the Brave issues, thanks a lot.
Yes, you would think that turning off hardware acceleration would take any post processing the video card did out of the equation, but with an nVidia device, or at least RTX cards, this is NOT true.
This kind soul’s suggestion to reset nVidia’s 3D settings in the nVidia control panel did indeed fix the problem. What confuses me is why only Brave was effected by this. However, this was a valid solution and solved my problem!
