Connecting Gemini – Brave says region not supported, but I'm in the US

Briefly describe your issue:

On a brand new macOS laptop connected to the same network my old laptop is connected to, I’ve installed Brave and am now attempting to setup my Brave Rewards connection to an existing Gemini account (which the other laptop is using successfully). I’m in the US, and navigating to Brave Rewards (brave://rewards in the browser).

When I click the “Connect account” button, the next screen has Gemini grayed out with the message “Not available in your region.”

What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (Menu --> About Brave)
MacOS Sonoma 14.1

Version 1.61.109 Chromium: 120.0.6099.144 (Official Build) (arm64)

Who is your verified custodian? (Uphold/Gemini/bitFlyer)

It says for Creators only. In other words, not for Rewards. Hence you wouldn’t be able to connect your Rewards to it.
