Sound stops working after video playback

I have the same issue described here:

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a URL with a video, such as YouTube or other streaming sites
  2. Play a video
  3. After pausing for a few minutes or switching to another video, audio is gone

Expected result:
Videos play with audio

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave is up to date
[Version 1.46.144 Chromium: 108.0.5359.128 (Official Build) (64-bit)]

Additional Information:
While my default output device is set properly and other browsers/apps correctly keep their hardware context:

This appears to be an issue that happens only when combining HDMI and traditional audio out jack / headphone jack. For me at least, when directly plugged into an HDMI TV there are no issues, but at my workstation this does not work.

Has happened before with a different set of speakers and older versions of Brave.

Thanks for reporting this and I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. Could you please try creating a new Brave profile and try updating your passwords to see if the issue persist there?

You can open a new profile by going to Main menuCreate a new profile

Let us know if that works.
