Brave cuts the sound of the computer

Hi.

Since a few days, when I read ie a Youtube video, or I browse on FB or so, and I listen to VLC, the sound goes off after one minute or less. I have to change the “default soundcard setting” to select the built in card and go back to the USB one (Focusrite). The problem comes again fews minutes later. Even VLC has no sound anymore.

Only on Brave. No problem in Chrome. All the drivers are up to date etc etc.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.38.117 Chromium: 101.0.4951.67 (Build officiel) (64 bits)

Additional Information:
Works fine since 2 years. No major change made.
Win Seven (yes, I know, but it’s enough for my use)

Brave linux no sound in videos since last two updates over the past week

Oh, how interesting. I didn’t find anything in Audio settings, but I clicked again on the Audio (Speaker) taskbar icon and saw an Applications tab there which shows which applications are playing audio. Since I had already started a video for this testing, I saw Brave (only) on the applications list. It showed Brave’s volume at 100%, but it was grayed out. So I pulled the volume back to 95% and back up to 100% again and the video’s audio started playing. Thanks for pointing me in the right direc…
