Streaming videos do not have sound. Cleared casche and cookies do not restore sound. Shutting down shields does not restore sound. If I open the page in a private window however, the sound works. Watching videos in private window is an unacceptable solution as my extensions are unavailable.
The problem was caused by an extension that modified the sound. Extension removed, problem solved.

I had an extension called “audio compressor” that was causing the sound on websites such as rumble and bitchute to malfunction. When I uninstalled this extension, the sound was restored.
