Apologies but I’m not entirely sure what you’re saying here.
If I right click on a link, it opens the context menu:

If you select Open Link in New Tab, the link opens in a new tab.
Tested in release build (v0.57.18) on macOS and Windows 10.

Am I missing something? Let me know.

Yes, the link opens in a new tab, but Brave keeps me on the old tab. It doesn’t take me to the new tab. I have to click on the new tab.

Alternatively, you can press ctrl + shift + left-click (cmd + shift + left-click on macOS) on a link. This will open the link in a new tab and move the focus to that tab.
