I have a related problem from the same bug. it’s something to do with profiles but i never figured out a solution. After losing my passwords several times I resorted to exporting the passwords every now and then as a csv. not ideal but no choice. i then tried stopped the brave updater service running automatically so i could export passwords before allowing an update. again not ideal but brave doesn’t let me decide when to update.
but somehow last night brave managed to update and i lost my passwords… again… and my last export was 2 months ago. So that’s a heap of time to send a load of emails for lost passwords…
The summary of all this is, using brave is a struggle between me and the software developers for ownership of my passwords!
Its a problem that is really turning me off this otherwise great browser.
Please fix the problem, or allow control of when updates happen.
I have a similar problem with the password manager. Whenever I visit a site which needs a log on, Brave asks if I want to save the credentials. I accept and had assumed they would be applied the next time I visited the site. This almost never happens. When I look at the manager in the settings tab, there are a few of the sites I saved, but not nearly all. I use Brave as my primary browser to avoid Chrome and Safari (they are both evil), but this is a major irritant. My current MacOS is 14.7 and my Brave build is
