I got myself verified as a content creator. I have Brave installed on my laptop and cell phone, My desktop browser is connected to Uphold; my phone is not. When I get my BAT payout on the 5th of every month, i tip my Youtube channel from my phone. The BAT is removed from my phone’s BAT balance, but never arrives in my Uphold wallet on my desktop. I have attempted this 2 months in a row now.

I just want to ask, why do you tip yourself instead of waiting to connect your Android to Uphold?
How much BAT are you tipping?

Well I don’t think court action is necessary; I just think it’s still a relatively new system of browsing the web which hasn’t gotten all the bugs worked out yet. It’s just frustrating that the bugs have deprived me of rewards that I legitimately earned. I like the concept of Brave, a lot. It’s just that so far, the execution of Brave has let me down. Hoping that changes in the near future, which is why I’m talking to my new friend Aaron here.
I believe the first month was 3 BAT, and this past month was 4. It requires 25 BAT to verify, which would take a long time at the rate that I’m accruing BAT currently. And frankly, I wanted to get the BAT off my phone as quickly as possible. Because…
I’ve had Brave for about 18 months now; I spent the first year accruing 251 BAT in the hopes that one day you’d allow us to release it to a wallet. I didn’t know about the “tip yourself” idea. Well, as you know, the day finally came in June. But I had issues with Uphold (kept showing 0 balance even though I had 251 BAT). So I went online and looked for solutions, and saw the “tip yourself” method, and not much in the way of Uphold solutions. So I decided to give it a whirl; I got my YouTube channel verified, but it wasn’t showing up as verified when I navigated to it (this was right before your handy “refresh status” button was added, frustratingly). I thought a solution would be to uninstall/reinstall Brave on my phone.
That worked, by the way. But you know the consequence.
Not only did I find out that my BAT was all gone, but that it was an expected “feature” with no way to restore it, or intent to restore it from Brave. You can imagine how I felt.
So now I have a verified account to tip to, no BAT because it was lost for no good reason so I can’t verify my wallet for a few months to withdraw, and now when I try and tip myself with whatever piddly BAT I do have, it freaking disappears.
So all I’m trying to do is actually get rewarded for looking at ads, and not lose them for nonsensical reasons. I’ve had Brave for 18 months and have no BAT to show for it. Whatever the best way to actually be rewarded for ads, is what I want to do. Thanks for listening to my sob story, but since I actually have the ear of Brave Support for a second, I couldn’t resist.
