Logging into on-line banking

I am a UK user of Brave and i love it, but I have just found a major problem.
https://www.barclays.co.uk
Barclays is one of the biggest banks in the UK,maybe even the biggest. I always use my laptop to do my banking, but since switching to brave i have not been able to. I can log in and i see my accounts balances but the spinning flower thing just stays on and keeps spinning and I can’t do anything else at all I thought it was an issue with the website so i called the helpline number and they told me it was an issue with my browser - it doesn’t support Barclays on-line banking. If I cant use my browser to log in to my bank there doesn’t seem much point in using it at all. Are you able to fix this or do I have to go back to using Microsoft edge - which I really don’t want to do?

Try the site with the shield off for now . I would look into it soon. Sorry busy at the moment.

hi, that was the first thing i did when Barclays said it was a browser issue. Even with shields down I have exactly the same issue

Can the issue be debugged without a login?

One suspect filter, I’ve issued a fix to see if this helps. (next 24/48hrs)

Thank you fanboynz,
I don’t know what any of that means, I’m just a laptop user who who likes using Brave, but I’ll give it a go in a few days and let you know how I get on
Thanks again

Thank you for doing whatever it was that you did fanboynz… It’s not perfect as I still have exactly the same issue with shields up but with shields down it works perfectly so is now usable - many thanks

When you’re logged in, having those issues (with sheilds up), take screenshot of the third-party trackers being blocked.

sorry but i don’t understand what you mean

do you mean the little flower thing spinning?

He tried with shields of. So blocking anything should not be the issue here.

@Sallyann,
@fanboynz fanboynz would like to see the list of 3rd Party trackers while on your banking website after you’re logged in. I used IGN.com below in my example to show you how to find this information:

Yeah. A copy/paste of the 3rd party trackers would help nail down what is being blocked, and hopefully fix this issue.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, I have been extremely busy.

It wouldn’t let me copy and paste the whole list so i did a screen snip but unfortunately it only shows the beginning of each of them - I hope this is enough

Sallyann

If you CTRL-A (Select all) and CTRL-C to copy

Thank you, here’s the list:

Go back

0Connections upgraded to HTTPS

0Scripts blocked

0

Change global shield defaults

Hope that helps you get it sorted out :crossed_fingers::slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for your help Mattches

I’ve made some changes, but it’ll only apply in Brave nightly (until the new adblock lands). I’d recommend testing with nightly (in the next 24-48hrs) to see if my change helps.

What’s Brave
nightly?

https://brave.com/download-nightly/ Its the latest Chrome code and other changes. If you can test in this version of brave?
