Gemini-Brave Verification/Integration: Region Supported (UK)

Getting this error even when I’m accessing Brave Rewards from the UK, which should be an accepted country as per this notice, unless new restrictions have been set.

Please advise on how I can verify my Brave wallet with Gemini.

Is your identity and address verified and up to date in Gemini?
Is your nationality different than your residence?

Have you ever had a passport or other document from a country?

Issue that has been occurring with a lot of people is a mismatch between KYC. Gemini sometimes can be content with just updating the mailing address and submitting those documents, but Brave isn’t. What happens is the API communicates between Gemini and Brave about your information. The crazy part is Brave staff can’t access it, but the system does.

So what could be happening is it’s seeing your prior passport for whatever country you were in and it’s telling you it’s an unsupported region based on that. Unless/until that’s updated between their systems, you’ll likely have this problem.

Part of the reason for it is because it’s an extra layer of fraud protection. It’s easy to fake a mailing address but harder to get official government licenses/passport.

If you need to submit new passport/government ID or have changed ID and uncertain if they updated the info to be shown to Brave, you may want to check with them by contacting Gemini according to their article at https://support.gemini.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061062411-How-do-I-change-my-Home-Address-

You always can try to reach out to Brave’s support as well, by doing a support ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 but Brave will be limited on what they can do if it’s something that needs changing on Gemini’s end.

Yes and yes: I hold an Indian passport and reside in the UK.

I’ll essentially have to provide new residence info. I’ll check with Gemini.

Yeah, they’ll need to update your passport or other accepted ID to show UK. The Indian passport is what would be having Brave see you as in an unsupported region, since India is currently not in one of the regions where Brave is not permitting Users to connect to Uphold or Gemini.

Correct, I’m working on this with Gemini.
