Everything got reset except saved passwords and bookmarks on Windows update

**Description of the issue: **
I updated my computer and then shut it off and went away for about an hour, and when I came back, everything opened back up as well as a new window that said Welcome to Brave. When I took a closer look, my extensions, settings and the amount of time saved, trackers blocked etc among other things like Brave Rewards got reset.

**How can this issue be reproduced? **

  1. Update to the latest version of Windows 11 (2023-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5025239)) (probably).
  2. Open Brave

Expected result:
My extensions and statistics etc are still there.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.50.114 Chromium: 112.0.5615.49 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1555), updated to 2023-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5025239)

For you Rewards getting reset, I would reach out to us on our Rewards form and see if there is anything we can do for you on that front. As for everything else, I’ll be forwarding this information to the team and urging them to prioritize this higher.

Unfortunately same here after Windows Update…very unlucky.

@eeeeeeeee and @Nope2, could either of you share a bit more information? For example, where is your browser profile located on the machine. To determine this, you can visit brave://about:version/ and look for the Profile Path. Mine, for exmaple, is located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default.

Also, are either of you using Brave Sync to share various types of data between different devices running Brave (e.g. your laptop/desktop, and a mobile device)? If so, could you tell us a bit more about how you have that feature configured? For example, do you see what you would expect to see in brave://sync/, when managing Sync settings?
