Windows Update Reset BAT

Description of the issue: After a Windows 10 update, Brave opened as though I was a new user. This effected my BAT and settings only, it seems as though my bookmarks/history/autofill seems fine.

My BAT is still in my uphold account, but I’m worried that moving forward my BAT won’t be deposited there or I’ll have to verify a new account.

I did not make a different profile. Auto Contribute is off.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I’ve seen several similar posts, so this is not an isolated event.

Expected result: I would love to reset back to normal. At the very least, I’d like some advice on how to prevent this from happening again.

Brave Version: Version 1.14.84 Chromium: 85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information: Windows 10.

Thank you for reporting! Please DM with the following information:

  • Copy/paste your Wallet ID (found on brave://rewards-internals)
  • Your OS and Brave version (first three lines in brave://version)
  • A screenshot of your Rewards panel in Settings --> Brave Rewards.
