Description of the issue:
Devices are not syncing to the sync chain.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Click “Start a new Sync Chain”
- Scan QR code with iPhone
- Check bookmarks on iPhone, they are not synced
- Check devices on iPhone, appears to be synced on the chain, but only new device appears (iPhone), not original device (laptop)
- Check devices on original device (laptop). There are no devices, because the page is still “Sync Setup”.

None, I started from scratch. I attempted with Laptop (Windows 10), iPhone, and desktop PC (Windows 10).
Additional Information:
I’ve been using Brave for about two years and the first time it synced no problem across all my devices (it must have been sync v1). However, several months ago (but I don’t remember when exactly), the devices stopped syncing new bookmarks (I only sync bookmarks), maybe during the transition to v2, I’m not sure when that happened.
Testing on my iPhone, I tried leaving the chain and syncing again. Didn’t work. So on the original device (laptop), I tried creating a new chain: 1. Click “Start a new Sync Chain”, 2. Scan QR code with iPhone, 3. Check bookmarks on iPhone, they are not synced, 4. Check devices on iPhone, appears to be synced on the chain, but only new device appears (iPhone), not original device (laptop), 5. Check devices on original device (laptop). There are no devices, because the page is still “Sync Setup”.
It was said in another issue (Brave Sync temporarily disabled on Desktop - #64 by isiahmeadows) that,
As was shared earlier, if you’re comfortable with the risk involved in using Sync version 1, you can re-enable the feature in about:flags (type that directly into your address bar on Desktop); search for Brave Sync.
So I searched for Brave Sync in about:flags, but I could not find Brave Sync, only Enable Brave Sync v2:
I also tried the options Request Start and Disable Sync as indicated in other issues, to no avail. Problem rather seems to be, Transport State = Disabled, Disable Reasons = Not signed in. How can I sign in? Here is my brave://sync-internals/
