CRYPTO JACKING in background

Description of the issue:
last 30 to 40 days in my browser i find crypto jacking in background

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. i remove all downloads
  2. i removed all application except window
  3. clear history & reinstalling brave
  4. also formatting total system

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
no effect / stop cryptojacking

in taskmanager there is 14 tab opens & 100% cpu usage
but i actually open new page tab only

by brave browser also very high power consumption on power usage section

Expected result:
no result after adding extensions also
i add 1) nominer
2) adblock
3) cryptomining blocker

Brave not mining in the background, have adblock (Brave Shields) and also block crypto mining scripts. :person_shrugging:

This is normal CMIIW. Brave use multiple process like other browsers do.

You can check which process is running via Brave’s Task Manager.

Menu > More tools > Task Manager or Shift + Esc for a shortcut.

I don’t understand – what exactly is the support request here? Are you asking if Brave is crypto-mining in the background? Or are you saying you found cryptomining and are trying to discern if Brave is the culprit?

Or are you just asking about the high CPU usage in Brave?
