Hey Luciendub, thanks for writing in. That’s definitely strange – will ping back to team and will get back to you!

Thank you for the prompt reply!

Hi @luciendub sorry for the inconvenience here. A couple of follow up questions. Does this usage spike only with new page loads, or is is pretty constant? Or does it subside a few minutes after startup? To confirm, rewards is on right? Do you also have ads enabled? Thanks!

It’s pretty constant (as soon as I open the Browser and while I surf)
Rewards is on and Ads are enabled.

Hello,
i can confirm the outlined behavior of the initial post. I have not started using brave as my main browser since it is causing my system to permanently use about 20% of my CPU.
This behavior has been there for some months for me.

I am running Windows 10.0.18363 and Brave 1.2.41.

Also attached a screenshot with 3 tabs open showing the CPU usage.

update: same pc booted into linux and the cpu usage is much better ( 2-10 % with 1 tab open) The ledger service however is at 0%, so i cant reproduce it on linux right now.

I’m also experiencing the same issue: Ledger service consumes 100% CPU

It started in early December and has not improved despite multiple updates.

Current version is:

MacOS Version 1.2.42 Chromium: 79.0.3945.117 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Brave rewards disabled
Ads disabled
Wallet verified

Problem continues with

Version 1.2.43 Chromium: 79.0.3945.130 (Official Build) (64-bit)
