And thank you both again for your help and patience in this!
Looks good. And I see on https://etherscan.io/gastracker Gwei is similar. So I think you can proceed with Gas price set to high. It might increase cost slightly.
Now I can say it should be enough.
OK, is there any other reason you think might prevent transaction?
Do you know what this means, or is it about gas? Anything to be concerned about?
I will suggest don’t select 100% this time. Keep decimal precision to few digits maby be 154.6
You have already mentioned it here-
- is ruled out by keeping 1 decimal precision
- I know Exodus is ERC-20 compliant
So remains only 1.
I wonder if there is something like a hold period before you can withdraw in Brave wallet if you deposited though Wyre. I will tag @Mattches here.
Is this a deposit failure?
Since there already has been too many errors let someone from Brave team take over. @Mattches @onyb
It was a failure while trying to buy more eth thru wyre.
Failure #3.
There’s no reason for all this!
Well I didn’t come back with a success story.
Failure #4
Brave really doesn’t want me to get my money back
Well, I should have went here first.
Seems to be a pattern. Makes sense why they’re not in here trying to help me.
If I were them, I’d get my money back to so I’d shut up and go away.
But that’s just me.
Hello again. I’ve been back-reading and I think you understand now how ETH gas prices are estimated and how to adjust gwei. Sadly, I can’t help you with wyre as I have never bought crypto with them, but before you do, I advise you to estimate first how much ETH is needed in order to fulfill your transaction.
Based on your old screenshot, this was the estimated amount of ETH needed (around 0.004 ETH; I think you only had 0.001 ETH). So please make sure you check again before finalizing a purchase on wyre. I suggest buying a little bit higher than the estimated amount just to be sure.
Once you have sufficient ETH, your transaction should push through. You may adjust gwei to higher if you wish.
If I go to ethgasstation.io the estimated gwei needed right now for a FAST transaction is at 163. Edit gwei in Brave Wallet accordingly.
If the ETH you bought is still not enough, you can do one of two things:
- Just wait. The ETH network fees are determined by supply and demand. Many people like yourself may be making similar transactions at the same time. Try fulfilling your transaction at an odd time of the day when demand might be low
- Buy more ETH. For peace of mind, maybe don’t go this route unless you’re willing to buy hundreds of dollars worth of ETH.
I genuinely hope this helps and you manage to get your crypto out!
Thanks Doug! I’m on my 6th try, and Wyre continues to fail.
I wouldn’t doubt it’s intentional due to this thread.
#8, you guessed it.
Failed
I think you are better off buying crypto from an exchange. Find the time to make an account with Coinbase or Gemini as those are the exchanges that I feel are more beginner-friendly. It will save you a lot of heartache if you manage to buy your ETH there, send it to your Brave Wallet, and then send your BAT to Exodus. Plus, with Gemini, you can withdraw crypto for free 10 times a month. So no need to worry about calculating all those gas fees.
Yeah! If you can verify your account with Gemini, buy Ethereum there and withdraw to Brave wallet and it will charge no fee for 10 withdrawals/month.
If you want to try in Brave wallet, I will suggest another way to determine Gas fee-
-
Initiate purchase of BAT (the amount that you wish to withdraw ~155 BAT) through Wyre (Don’t buy it, of course!)
-
On the confirmation page, you will see Network fee/Gas fee needed.
-
Now you can Buy Ethereum of the same value.
Now that I see, @Brian6 in your previous post-
your transaction fee (~$7) is much low with Gas price (66 Gwei). Because Gas limit for ERC-20 tokens should be more than 65000. See here, this is for another ERC-20 token USDC-
When I set Gwei to 66, it gave about (~$20 for transaction fee). Of course for this one I can’t set Gas price at 66 Gwei (Save button is greyed-out) as current base fee is 84.02 Gwei (at the time of taking the screenshot). Ethersacan also suggests Gas limit of 65000 for ERC-20 tokens-
But Gas limit for BAT as set in Brave wallet is 24663. Can be seen here-
For Ethereum Gas limit is 21000 and with 66 Gwei, it gives about (~$6). See this-
ERC-20 tokens are costlier to transact than Ethereum but in Brave wallet Gas limit for BAT is quite close to Ethereum (24663 vs 21000). Can this be a reason for this failed transaction error-
PS: @Brian6 do you see an error like “Out of Gas” similar to this one, on etherscan-https://www.reddit.com/r/BATProject/comments/e00fe8/trouble_transferring_bat/
