This entire system is set up to steal peoples money. Why would you need to determine how much “gas” is needed for a transaction? Why isn’t is X-amount for X-amount transferred.
It’s most likely that since my money was taken for a denied transaction, I no longer have enough to attempt again. I’m already over $20 in to trying to recover $200. It’s a dishonest system designed to scam the unsuspecting.
Doug, I don’t have a clue as to find out how much “gas” was used in an attempt to send. If it wasn’t default set at enough, then that was intentionally done by Brave and is theft. They should know what it takes and set it at that.
your welcome, i think this is just community not actual brave support ,or atleast my opinion. dont waste money by trying to much because it will take gas everytime the transaction is processed . as doug said it might be worth just leaving the BAT where it is because gas fees change and may go down .
If you hover your cursor over the brave Icon, it says “employee”.
I rather not leave it because I want to switch browsers to get away from Brave. I don’t support those who don’t support their supporters.
Can anyone tell me how much it costs to transfer 155 BAT (154.65 to be exact) ?
And what does the “unable to locate corresponding transfer event logs” mean? If this is something other than “gas”, then it would obviously just take my money again for nothing in the event I tried again.
in my limited experience the gas fee is normally applied by the wallet, sometimes you can choose slow, normal, fast . definitely got the correct address entered in the brave wallet to receive the BAT at exodus ?
OK, but what if that doesn’t do it, and adding ANOTHER roughly $10-12 in fees to what I’ve already wasted fooling with this is just more money for them for nothing.
I recall now seeing it was set like this when I sent it before. Why wouldn’t that have worked? Just because they chose to make it not work?
This was from current, not from the actual “send” from the failed one. This is the default setting.
You can check Gas price (in gwei) here- https://etherscan.io/gastracker and notice it fluctuates as per market demand. The same can be found inBrave wallet here-
Set Gas price in Gwei as per Etherscan in Brave wallet (take Higher amont) and Save. This would show you the final Gas fee in $. Take this as a reference
When you connect your wallet to some Dapps or websites like chainlist.org then it will show connected. This is a very valuable feature which you might want to learn but probabbly later.
I’d looked at that site before, but don’t understand it.
I don’t want to connect anything else to Brave, I want to get away from it. They’ve offered ZERO help in this, they’re just waiting for me to throw more money at them.
For the moment just focus on High Gwei on the website and compare Gwei on Brave wallet, put higher of the two Gwei on Brave wallet to show how much $ you will need.
If you look a few posts up, I set gas at max setting and asked regarding funds needed to assure transfer. I honesty don’t understand what you’re trying to tell me.
Setting Gas fee at max should also tell you how much USD you will need. I just wanted to double check it with etherscan so that we can rule out if Brave is underestimating gas fee. For this you will need to check Gas fee in Gwei in both Brave wallet and on etherscan.
And other than this, I don’t know how to check what you’re asking me to check, sorry. As I’ve said from the start, I got myself into a mess I should have never fooled with.
