Can’t just open a pdf, have to save it

When I click on a pdf file in a website on my local home network, Brave makes me save it, and won’t open it. I cannot view the pdf, I have to download it. I have made sure the “Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Brave” is unchecked in the Settings. Annoying.

Thus when I go to a website I know and trust, it still says “Not Secure” in the upper left. Is that why Brave won’t let me open a pdf? How can I change this website to “Secure”?

In Firefox, when I’d click on a pdf, it would simply open in a new window. How can I get Brave to do this?

I know someone else here had the same problem:

but I did not see a reply or a solution.

Otherwise, this has been a great browser.

Can you help?

I’m on Windows 10, running Version 1.24.86 Chromium: 90.0.4430.212 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Can you test in Chrome also? I don’t think Brave changed any code here. @silverjill
