How do i open pdf files into brave without downloading it in the first place

Please make brave open pdf files directly in browser.
I am talking about pdf files from the web to be able to open in brave without downloading it first.

This is a reasonable request that I’ve seen before.

First - a quibble - but this is non-trivial: to view a pdf - or anything on the web : everything you view must first be downloaded; what’s in question is whether or not a pdf must be saved somewhere on your computer before displaying it.

My understanding from my own experience with different browsers / different operating systems: what determines whether or not a pdf can be viewed without first saving it is determined by the website - how it’s encoded - not the browser. I regularly encounter both alternatives - pdf’s that I can view when I click the link OR pdf’s that require me to save them before viewing. This behavior varies by web page, not the browser I’m using. But I’ll be interested to read what others have to say.

Adding (not contradicting my earlier comment) - Brave DOES offer options for PDF content:

brave://settings/content/pdfDocuments

You can select either Download PDFs (in this instance “Download” = “Save”) OR Open PDFs in Brave

I have Open PDFs in Brave selected; I don’t know which is the default setting.

I’ll repeat an observation I offered in my initial comment: despite having toggled Open PDFs in Brave my experience is that some websites with PDF content don’t permit that content to be viewed without first saving the file on my computer. But selecting Open PDFs in Brave does that … most of the time.

This is cool! I figured out it was my download manager which downlaoded pdf when clicked on some pdf file on web, so i disabled it. Then, I enabled the option Open pdfs in Brave and it solved my problem.
Thank you for sharing!
