Description of the issue:
When trying to launch Brave from a pinned taskbar icon immediately after logging into Windows, Brave fails to successfully launch and the opened tabs from the previous session are lost. Waiting about 30 seconds after logging into Windows before trying to launch Brave effectively works around this issue.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Turn on computer.
- Wait for Windows log-in prompt to appear.
- Wait an additional few seconds for the cursor to stop blinking and then start again.
- Enter password.
- As quickly as possible, click the Brave icon on the taskbar.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Brave doesn’t launch, but hovering the mouse over the Brave icon pops up a tooltip saying “Brave (2)”. brave.exe does not appear in Task Manager’s list of proccesses. Attempting to open Brave a second time causes Brave to launch successfully, however all open tabs from the previous session are not reopened even if the computer is restarted in between the failed and successful launch attempts.
Expected result:
Brave launches normally.
Reproduces how often:
After identifying the promptness of the launch attempt as the causal factor, the issue has behaved 100% consistently.
