On latest ubuntu brave, ubuntu 24.04, the auto ai answer in the last two weeks is freezing the search results for 10 seconds about 80% of the time. Just kill this stupid ai nonsense, it should be opt in like a button that says “do you want incorrect answers paraphrased from idiots on reddit?”

Premium subscriber here for what it’s worth. I’m using Brave on an older and somewhat slower machine and yes the search page is one of the most heavyweight pages I visit. It keeps freezing the tab most of the time. It seems like a ton of JS is running to bring the text from the AI (and the pictures on the top right of the search) in view in a gradual way. Can you please cut down a little bit on the flair and how good it looks and focus more on not using so much CPU? It’s just a search page, it doesn’t make sense for it to be more heavy than the search result website that I’ll eventually visit and more heavy than Leo on the sidebar.
I even get the same delays on my Android phone which is not that slow, it’s a regular mid-range smartphone.
