Brave opens a Google and a Bing tab when I search something using the URL bar

Hello,

I’ve tried googling this and can’t find anything on it.

I’ve been using Brave for about a year now and love it, haven’t had any real problems. This one isn’t a huge issue but it is a little annoying.

Sometimes (about half the time I’d estimate) when I use the search bar/URL bar to google something, it goes through with the google search but ALSO automatically opens a new tab with the same search text, but in a Bing search. I’m not sure what the deciding factor is, and it’s only been happening for a few days so far.

I DO have the default search engine set to Google. I’ve never used Bing so I’m not sure why it would be happening.

The only extension I have is an adblocker that I think came with Brave when I downloaded it? But I’ve disabled that and it’s still happened.

Try Changing Default Search Engine to Brave
Restart Browser Profile

Perform a Search and See if the issue is fixed… You can change Search Engine to Google Later If wanted. Also, Test in New Profile.
