Brave freezes briefly but often when hardware acceleration is on

Description of the issue:
Brave freezes briefly but often when hardware acceleration is on. To avoid this annoyance I have to disable hardware acceleration thus loosing performances.
This problem does not occur when using Chrome in the same environment.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Browse with HW acceleration on

Expected result:
A smooth browsing experience
