No data will be lost or overwritten – all Brave builds will install and run in parallel. If the browser doesn’t crash, and you’d like to port your information over to the (newly installed) stable build from your (currently installed) Beta build, let me know and I can walk you through the steps.

Would you mind sharing at least one of your more recent crash report IDs here in the thread so I can confirm whether or not it’s related to sync/bookmarks? Note that I don’t need the entire report, just the ID.

Did you try the solution I mentioned in my previous reply, regarding Hardware Acceleration?

@mr.Natural, Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue? You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration If you can’t keep the browser open long enough to reach that setting, you can follow the same steps used in the solution to this thread to work around it:

@Mattches, yes I tried it with no hardware acc. No succes, Windows keeps crashing. Fortunately the Beta is still working for me.

Can you try launching a new Private browsing window and see if you get the same crash?

With private as default, first time it started normally, then I hard rebooted my PC. Then it crashed Windows. Third time after a long time of Brave and windows being non-responsive and my desktop icons disappeared for a while, it started and I could get a crash report:

My brave keeps crashing too. There are times when I tried to upload files the file explorer window wont show up and then Brave froze. And for me to be able to use it again is if I restart my machine.

Just recently the file explorer window appears to be in low resolution and crappy.

I had similar problems and solved it with a system scan and repair.

No idea why…and I haven’t changed anything or setting on my end, but the crashes stopped since a day or two, and looks to be working great and back to normal…

Haven’t had any crashes since I left my sync chain but I’m not sure if I were to rejoin crashes would start again. I’m just waiting it out for awhile since I’ve received direct confirmation that this is something being worked on:
