Ads not appering

The ad not appearing comment comes up so frequently and I experience it myself. I have now gone multiple days using Brave on my Mac laptop for probably 4-5 hours. Last I saw an ad was the 14th (now the 18th).

I found the following which seems to say the Brave ad policy is misleading. To this point, I agree:

The difference in wording may seem small, but there is a substantial difference conceptually. The goal is to show you privacy respecting ads that are relevant to the user in the right context (a “match” is found) – not to make sure that all users “see some ads” . Enabling Ads does not guarantee that you’re going to see ads – if the system does not find a match for you in the ads catalog, then you will not see any (more information on this below).

The policy on serving ads should be more clearly stated and should not require a user to explore the community site when nothing seems to change. By now, this issue should appear in the trouble shooting guidelines Brave makes available directly from the browser.

If this is true, then the hole Brave Rewards system is not working correctly. They should give us a statement on this topic.

What do you mean? @GreenLion

I mean the problem, that is currently appearing with Brave Ads and the problem that @grabe already described.

it’s been over a week now i haven’t receive any ad! almost 2 weeks actually, i still do not understand the “match” thing, i still visit the same websites and products’ pages i used to visit when i was receiving ads!

Same problem here: No ADS with brave / here: VPNs and Brave rewards / here: Brave desktop browser don’t show any ads / here: Didn't receive brave reward and brave ads
So far no official response about what is going on and why people aren’t seeing ads.

I will add to that:

As an example: zero ads during the day while I use Brave, then every night while my mobile sits on the nightstand: 3 ads – so the context is “sleeping”? This is happening now every night!

After several days I finally received another ad. I tried clearing browser data and changing the preferred number of ads per hour. I have no idea if these changes made a difference. I appreciate that others have experienced a similar issue. This has happened to me several times in my history with Brave. Brave is not very clear about how it decides to display an ad. The ads seem to show up without any pattern or relationship to my activity and time. Given the time I spend with Brave on multiple devices I would like to get to a level that I can compensate the creators I visit with the ad revenue I generate. The benefit I see in Brave is not so much the ad and cookie blocking. It is easy enough to do this with other browsers. It is the reduction of personal information shared in combination with not stiffing the content and service sources that I see as the value.

Hi there,
I have now been on Brave for 2 days, used it 2 to 3 hours, but no ads is appearing at all and of course no rewards. Does someone know what’s the matter ? Where can we ‘complain’ or at least ask for help in order to fix this issue ? I have checked the country, it’s okay for ads …

Have a look at: FAQ: Why am I not seeing Brave Ads?

I guess my interest is in understanding Brave’s intentions. I was hoping I could get to the point where compensation to the sites I would visit would be covered by the ads I view. I don’t see this happening at present. My interest is not so much in blocking ads and cookies as this can be accomplished with other browsers. The block only approach ignores the appropriate expectation that content and service providers receive compensation.

As far as your initial post goes, I think that this is good feedback. Its worth mentioning that the information is available on our Help Center as well – which is linked to in several internal pages of the browser.

As for your last reply, can you try and elaborate on the issue you’re trying to highlight?

 If I understand correctly, this is the main issue you’re trying to point out – that the ads you receive don’t provide enough to contribute to the content creators of your choosing? And, further, this is the main reason you’re using the browser – not for blocking ads, but for the alternative way to compensate sites/creators?

So I suppose my first question is how much (roughly) have you made via Brave Ads so far?

I work on several computers, but the one I use most is now showing ads with 1.05 BAT. Even if this is doubled, I am a long way from the 20 BAT I contribute for the month.

in my issue, I did not recieve any bat in my account on brave, please help me to work it, thank you
