When trying to sync between desktop and android device - everything else syncs other than passwords

I have searched other post and most say i should have a ‘data preferences’ under the ‘Add new device’ highlighted section - but i do not have that option.

i have tried all other options such as removing devices and then starting a new chain - from either device.

I found this post that was closed:

It was closed as it was being dealt with - on GitHub - but i am not a member there and do not do all this coding stuff - I just like that fact the browser is blockchain friendly - but not so much now!

Can someone who is on GitHub let me know the answer please?

Searching at GitHub > Brave > Brave-Browser > Issues for keywords in title:

  • password
  • sync

Yes, I’ve searched.

I’m an amateur and don’t understand git hub solutions to add diagnostics and coding.

The last post on the link you provided and the one I provided was others still asking for the solution.

Is there a solution? If so can you just tell me in simple terms please.

For several Android (and a few Chromebook) users . . . password sync is not working.

PS. I used GoodSync for years, in order to back up Windows OS machines. GoodSync software also backs up mobile devices.

Thank you

I have become a member on github to follow for the solution and offered any help that an amateur can!

I will check out goodsync and maybe I’ll have to use that if a Brave solution isn’t forthcoming.

Thanks again

Not a direct solution, but consider using a password manager. They tend to be better and more capablle than those included in any browser. I use KeePassXC which is cross platfform, so, with a litte work, I have the same set of passwords on my Android phone and on my Linux notebook. It also stores URLs so you can use it as an encrypted bookmark manager as well. You can store your passwords locally or on the cloud so they’re always available and they work with all your apps, not just the browser. It even has an autotype feature that will find and type the passwords for you.
