Description of the issue:
I just spent close to four hours downloading a 4GB torrent file through the built-in WebTorrent. I mistakenly clicked the “Stop Torrent” button before doing the “Save All Files,” and now whatever was downloaded is gone. I tried to find the file everywhere I could think of without luck. Clicking on “Start Torrent” restarts the download from the very beginning. So, four hours of my life. Puff. Gone. Doubleyou-tee-eff?!?
Did it really not occur to anyone designing this s!@# that hey, maybe display some kind of a warning to the user when clicking “Stop Torrent”? Maybe prompt the user to save the files once they’re finished downloading or at least automatically transfer them from the memory to the disk?? Maybe have a way to easily retrieve the torrent, even after stopping it, if the tab is still open??? Maybe, MAYBE, even just put a more prominent link to “Save all files…” somewhere closer to “Stop Torrent”!!! I mean, did anyone hear of this thing called USABILITY!?!
I’m really trying to stay civil here but this got me p!@#$d enough that I found this forum and created an account just to vent. This is TOTAL HORSES!@T!!!
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Find a torrent, start the torrent download.
- Spend hours waiting for the download to complete.
- Make the mistake of clicking on “Stop Torrent” before “saving” the files.
Expected result:
Something more sensible than losing the entire download!!!
