Torrents should be immediately downloaded

Just spent an hour downloading a torrent only to click to stop seeding and have it removed from memory immediately

If I’m downloading a torrent, isn’t it safe to assume that I plan on keeping it, not just seeding it?

@infinitefungi,
We’re currently working on a webtorrent refactor to make using and managing the extension easier and more straightforward.

For now, if you want to save the file to your machine, simply click the Save file option on your torrent screen.

I don’t see a “Save File” option. All I see are “Start Torrent” and “Copy Magnet Link”. It sure would be helpful if you guys would fix this problem so it works like every other browser I’ve ever seen. Please. I like Brave but having to go through this insanity two or three times a week is going to send me back to Chrome in a hurry.

@rs99cool,
We are fixing the issue, as I pointed out before. In the meantime, click on the torrent/magnet link you’d like to download, then click the arrow next to the appropriate file, under the Save file column:

Oh, now I see. In order to get to the page where you can actually save the file, you must first click on the “Start Torrent” button. This brings us to the page that you describe where the tiny “Save File” down arrow is located.

Okay, that should work. It’s a bit counter intuitive but we should understand that it takes time and recoding to fix things like this. We appreciate your efforts a lot. It’s a super browser! Keep up the good work!

Thanks & regards!
