Tabs cannot be clicked on with mouse at the very top pixels of the screen (chromium version 86)

This is already reported for Chrome 86 here.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Make Brave window fullscreen
  2. Open some tabs
  3. Move the mouse cursor to the very top of the screen
  4. Left-click on a tab
    Expected result: Tab is selected.
    Actual result: Tab isn’t selected.

Brave Version:
Version 1.15.75 Chromium: 86.0.4240.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I can reproduce this on Linux and Windows desktop clients. Probably reproducible on Mac.

If mouse cursor is at the topmost pixels of the screen,

  • Tabs cannot be selected with left-click
  • Tabs cannot be closed with middle click
  • New tab button doesn’t work

It’s very frustrating guys.

Can Brave team revert this chromium 86 change back?

This has been fixed on Chrome side (here) but it is still reproducible on Brave Version 1.16.68 Chromium: 86.0.4240.111 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Linux (Xubuntu).
It’s very frustrating. Please help.

I do not see the issue

Brave Dev 1.17.55 Chromium: 86.0.4240.111 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)
… and
Brave Nightly 1.18.18 Chromium: 87.0.4280.27 (Official Build) nightly (64-bit)

openSUSE Tumbleweed, running the Plasma desktop with a Panel at the top.

You can’t test it if you have a Panel at the top.

I set the Panel to “Windows Can Cover”, then re-tested both Brave versions at full screen … where top of the browser window occupies the absolute top of the monitor … I am able to select / cycle through tabs.

FWIW - at the link you provided where it’s fixed in Chromium, it is stated:
Congratulation for all, this problem has been fixed on version 86.0.4240.111

My Dev version (1.17.55) is that … and my Nightly is newer.
