Stop open mailto links in the same tab with gmail

Description of the issue:

Every mailto link in a website is opened in the same tab with gmail.
In the system setting, the preferred application for mail is Thunderbird.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. click on mailto links

Expected result:

Should open thunderbird, with a new mail and the clicked e-mail address.
