Playing two videos makes both stutter (YouTube/Twitch)

Description of the issue:
Playing a twitch stream and youtube video at the same time makes both players stutter

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Start playing a youtube video in window 1
  2. Create a new window
  3. Start playing a twitch stream in window 2

Expected result:
No stuttering in any of the windows

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.23.71 Chromium: 90.0.4430.72 (Official Build) (64-bit)

go to brave://settings/system and disable Use hardware acceleration when available

I’ve tried that, besides it making the streams look grainy it also lowers the FPS down to a terrible rate, so that’s not a viable solution. Thanks for the suggestion though :slight_smile:

could you try to disable all extension and try in private mode

Just tried it an unfortunately its the same with two private windows that have no extensions enabled.

could you create new profile and see if it work fine there

go to menu then create a new profile

That didn’t work either but I’ve found the culprit.
In the Nvidia Control Panel my global settings for “Max Frame Rate” are set to my monitors refresh rate (60). I guess that multiple instances of brave share this frame rate which leads to the lag/stutter. Once I’ve added “Program Settings” for “brave.exe” and set that to “Off” all windows play videos just fine.
