Description of the issue:
I was trying to set up 2FA with my PayPal account using a Yubikey in Brave (Windows 10 desktop).
PayPal’s authentication screen said ‘Security devices are incompatible with this browser’. When I tried the same thing in Chrome, that sentence wasn’t there and it was possible to add the Yubikey. Screen shots attached from Brave and Chrome.
Yet I’ve read other people use Yubikey OK with Brave. Yubikey themselves have said Brave is compatible, although you may have to put shields off.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Log in to PayPal.com
- Go to Settings > Security > 2 step verification
- See if security key devices are allowed
Expected result:

Additional Information:
It made no difference whether shields were up or down.
