Cannot sign in thru google passkeys

When logging in using google passkeys a prompt pops up saying “Your device can’t be used with this site” then "google.com may require a newer or diffrent kind of device. and also i’ve tried turning on “Allow Google login for extensions” and still the same problem

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no)

No it still doesn’t work with shields on or off, same problem

I haven’t tried it in google chrome because i only ever logged onto this account in brave and so logging in using chrome only asks for my password not passkeys.

  • If you try it in a private window do you see any difference?

  • How about in a new browser profile?

its maybe bcause you’re on windows 11 and im on windows 10(?)

I just ran into a similar problem with Paypal.

I’m using the Bitwarden password manager and passkeys will work with Chrome, but when I attempt to access through Brave, Paypal tells me it can only do passkeys with Chrome, Edge, or Safari.

This seems to be more of a Paypal issue, but i was under the impression that the passkey handshake should be platform independent.
