Page in blank after search on google


Description of the issue:
When searching on the address bar or after entering google and searching from google itself the browser shows all the results, however after few seconds the page gets absolutely BLANK, sometimes refreshing it shows the information again but it repeats itself disappearing

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser
  2. Search on the address bar (with Google as Search Engine) anything
  3. Wait for few seconds after the list is shown and scroll over it

Expected result:

The results page should not go blank

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave is up to date

Version 1.50.114 Chromium: 112.0.5615.49 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Running on Windows 11, it only happens on Brave, I am getting really mad at this to the point I am moving to another browser until I got news, tried disabling some addons but they didn’t seem to be the issue, however they are:
LastPass
uBlock Origin
BitWarden

I set all of them off to try but nothing changed.

Hello there @Shinusagi accept my apologies for this inconvenience. On this case please try disabling your shields while doing your search to see if that makes any change.

Honestly I have no idea what it is but as you can see it is really annoying and sometimes when I disable not only the shields but anything on the browser it seems to “refresh” the view (not the page) and show the content again only to fall on the same issue again

@Shinusagi try creating a new profile by going to main menu > create new profile and open google search there to see if you still see a blank page.

Well, after doing it it worked quite well, so I deleted the old profile and synced this new one.
Tried everything active (Extensions and such) and no issue whatsoever until now.
Thanks a lot, I have no clue what was broken on the profile but it affected specially the google results and as I know they are not the best sometimes it is a necessary evil.

I will update this if something else seems off but as for now I can finally set it again as my default browser and use the violet icon as I usually do

Well… it was nice as long as it lasted, since it is happening again.
The only thing that changed was the network I was connected to, previously it was an Ethernet adapter and now it is WiFi (since the adapter is no longer in this world).
Is there anything I could check instead of making a new profile this time?

Mine does the same thing. I have not found a fix for it. Tried creating a new profile. Same thing. I tried updating Brave to the newest patch and still doesnt work. Very frustrating. The words and images all dissapear but I can still click on links.

Any update on this? Is it a known bug? Is it going to be released some fix? Is any other info/test needed from users to help identify or solve this?

Test in private window mode. disable all extensions.

Thus far not issue on Private Window using Google, which is the main issue on the thread as far as I understand for how we are talking about it and has been reported.

I know Brave hate Google as much as I do but it is a needed evil sometimes lol

  1. What filters enabled in brave://adblock and any custom rules?
  2. Could try clearing the cookies/cache in brave://settings/clearBrowserData then relogin.
  3. Does it occur when you’re not logged in?
