Not Consistently Receiving Brave Rewards

Briefly describe your issue:
I haven’t checked in with my rewards in a while and it seems that I am only sometimes receiving rewards. According to my Gemini account, I only received BAT rewards for 6/12 months in 2023, while I have been using Brave and seeing ads consistently the entire year (the dates I received payments in 2023 are Jan 6, Feb 7, Mar 8, Apr 6, May 1, and Nov 7). I’m hoping someone might be able to help me figure out/fix whatever is going wrong. Thanks in advance!

@zmb there’s a lot of guesses or assumptions to be made, such as wondering if you perhaps had been flagged. I know around May of last year there was a massive issue with accounts getting flagged, which you can see a small discussion of at PSA: Current Rewards Issues (June 2023) *UPDATED* and PSA: Flagged accounts issue (August 2023 update)

As to why you would have then gotten a payment in November but be missing December and, I’m guessing January?, is beyond me. It’s possible the system removed the flag but then you got flagged again. If so, might be that you have something going on that is triggering the antifraud system.

Regardless, I really would suggest you create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 so someone from Brave can take a close look and see if they can provide any answers.

Though will warn you, if assumption on being flagged is correct, especially that you’ve been flagged again after November payment, then it’s possible (maybe even probable) that they will say your account won’t be reinstated and will remain flagged. In other words, permanently suspended/banned and unable to receive payments. Hopefully that’s not the case, but just putting it out there now. But that’s just the worst possible outcome based on random assumption/guess. It will take Brave looking into things to be able to know what’s going on specifically and if you are indeed flagged or if the issue is something else.

Thanks for the response! I’ll check out the support page. A few years ago my account had been flagged and I was able to get it un-flagged. I figured maybe I had been flagged again, but the November payment threw me off.

I would have hoped by now Brave would be able to alert users to having a flagged status, or at the very least didn’t serve ads to users while not rewarding them for it. But it’s not like it’s of huge consequence anyway… maybe support will have some insight into why I may have been flagged.
