The Brave browser for macOS updates almost daily. And every single update is treated like a new installation, requiring user intervention and admin password. Chrome doesn’t do this. I just checked, and both browsers are running Chromium version 90.0.4430.85 (Official Build) (x86_64). Chrome has been absolutely silent this whole time. Is there a specific reason why Brave can’t update automatically, or are Brave’s programmers simply less skilled than Google’s Chrome team?
If this is true, then it’s a deal breaker for me, I won’t install any software that auto updates without a way to stop it. Any why on earth would brave need daily updates on stable installs? Are users being treated as beta testers? This is a security risk.
