Multiple sites with visual glitches

Description of the issue: As of about 5 days ago, on certain websites I will get visual glitches. What happens is that if I load onto something, for example the internet archive, half of the screen will be a mess of either assets from that site, other tabs, or what is happening on other windows I have open. Scrolling will make it worse to the point of the entire experience being a mess. Other websites such as discord.com will have the whole screen a mess from loading. Lastpass worked fine until I hovered over a button where the glitches began. Youtube is an unique case where the website works fine, except for the media icons when playing a video. Those are either glitched out by themselves or repeats of the same icon, but on each. Also, the media controls constantly flicker when hovered over. I tried it on Chrome, which had the same issue. Another browser I used that is not based on Chromium, Falkon, worked fine. Also, I was using Linux Mint on a HP Compaq 6910p with Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics.

Brave version 1.58.131:

@slavprussiaottoman it’s a graphics issue. You may need to reset your graphics drivers and/or make sure it’s updated. In addition, try to toy with your graphics card settings.

I know that’s a bit vague, but causes and solutions vary greatly for each person. Sometimes it’s because current settings on graphics cards are to limit background apps and it sees web browsers as such. In other times, it’s because the graphics card is shot and you need a new one. On yet others, it could be because of things like MFAA.

I’m going to bet if you were to disable hardware acceleration in Brave’s settings, it would be better. But this would be relying on your CPU rather than GPU to do some tasks. It’s just having to figure out what specifically is the issue on why your graphics card isn’t playing nice.

Thank you, the issue was the GPU acceleration. For others that may read this, turning that off might help with older iGPUs before Intel HD.
