Description of the issue:
Since v1.78.94 update I have been getting graphical glitches that appear on text elements. It does not happen in other browsers. But its not on all websites, I mostly see it on Twitch, Google, and Youtube and the main browser window.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
There are no steps to reproduce as it happens all the time.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Operating System and Brave Version:
OS: Windows 11 Home 10.0.26100 Build 26100
CPU: Intel I7-12700k
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT
Brave Version: 1.78.102 Chromium: 136.0.7103.113 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I have tested it on the beta build (as of 5/15/25) and it still occurs even after full cleaning of all brave files and reinstalling. It does not happen with “Use graphics acceleration when available” set to off. All GPU drivers are up to date and Windows is on the most updated release
These are some good tips and changing the graphical backend only helped a little. I’m wondering if this is a AMD compatibility issue with their latest 25.5.1 driver release from 4/25/25. If I have time I will downgrade my drivers and see if the issue persist with the default graphical backed for brave.
Yes this does help with a slight trade off of 2-5% more cpu usage on active video tabs. I also reverted my drivers to a previous version(25.2.1 Optional) as well for more testing and the artifacts are no longer happening.
I have the same GPU and CPU. I get the glitches in Chrome, Steam, and I can’t remember if I got them on other apps. Im not a Brave user.
It started showing up like max 1 week ago or so. I am almost certain it’s caused by something that recently got updated. I remember Windows getting updated AND the Intel iGPU driver got updated as well, 5 days ago (May 15th, exactly when you made this post).
I’m having exactly the same problems. So far I’ve noticed that this only happens on Brave, and on some specific websites that Mano mentioned above. Honestly, I think the problem may be caused by a lack of compatibility of the browser settings with the latest drivers released by AMD, as I also use an RX 7700 XT lol, or maybe it’s a problem with the GPU itself that AMD doesn’t care about
