I really hate those weird floating buttons instead of proper tabs, You could even say that it was one of the reasons that led me to try Brave. (I installed Brave as soon as Mozilla removed the about:config flag to disable them)
So anyway, now I am a little more concerned about my browser fingerprint, I noticed that disabling the option seems to recover some pixels from the Webview (I see a little more of the website and a bit less of the Brave UI), so I was wondering if disabling the new design would make me more fingerprinteable?
Generally, blending in with the crowd makes you a little bit less identifiable. Please understand that there are so many ways to identify users that can lead one down the “privacy” rabbit hole. My motto is: Keep it simple, stay safe and not paranoid.
It makes sense. I remember reading somewhere that brave developers wanted to remove the most aggressive shield levels so that the configuration would be more homogeneous for all brave users. I’m not sure if that’s true though.
You’re right; maybe I’m thinking too much about it. I should probably stick with the defaults and just delete everything on exit or that convenient forget option in shields.
I really dislike those floating buttons though. Maybe if it bothers me too much, I should keep an eye on Chrome
