Initial trouble syncing Brave firewall+vpn across devices, becomes email client/os detection error(possible bug?)

Ive been trying to activate the brave vpn on my other device, I originally purchased the service sub via ios App Store, From Brave browser, I select menu, settings, brave firewall + vpn, link purchases from there, I fill in the “linked” email, and press send. Brave emails me a link which I open on the device I want to link to, and an account page loads saying that I don’t have any active subs. So I switched to desktop view in hopes that I can get the system to show me more information, still nothing. Here’s what I figured out was going on. The verification process doesn’t like to work when sending external email clients, the Os verification system doesn’t like the desktop view if linking mobile devices.

So this is how I fixed it for my case. Details may change but this is a working method for me.

Open brave on iOS device, step 1: Menu- settings- firewall+vpn,-link account-
Enter email in field-send.
Step two: open email in Brave browser(important to solution)- click link- page indicates account link successfully
Step three: open Brave in alternate device- menu- settings- firewall+vpn- follow account linking process in step 2- brave-> firewall+vpn- refresh credentials-done?

Import note:

  1. if at any time you get a message that Brave firewall+vpn does not support Linux. Go to settings and verify that “desktop site” is not selected. This is what hinged any successful account linking attempts.

  2. All emails have to be opened from Brave browser. The verification process does not like incoming links from gmail app, or other browser clients.

Actual Result: successfully activate and link vpn+ firewall purchase across owned devices(iOS to android)

**only tested on my own device list, needs alternate tests to verify proof of verification **

Operating System and Brave 1.73, iOS 18.1.1 android 15, ui one 5.1 ,windows 11

** so many emails, I need to learn to screen shot my process **
