Brave vpn account not linking

I have Brave VPN on my android phone and it works fine there, but when I synch my desktop browser to my Brave VPN account it says it has loaded the account info into my browser but clicking on the VPN button still tells me to start a free trial or if I’ve already purchased brave VPN.

Type of device (iPad pro, iPhone 10, etc):
Android google pixel, and windows 10 PC

Detailed description of the behavior:
I click on the VPN dropdown > select Already Purchased VPN > type in my email > open my email and click on the link in the message brave sent me > opens a new tab in browser saying my accounts are synched > I click on the VPN dropdown and it still says start free trial / already purchased VPN. try pressing the ‘refresh brave VPN button’ no change.

@gus.manning Since this was purchased on your Android device, you have to connect your subscription to your Brave account before syncing with Desktop. Please visit this helpful article to make use of the Brave VPN on up to 5 devices.

I tried that, it said something went wrong and to contact steam support

It is important to note that when you follow these steps to link your Android subscription to your Brave account, logging into your Brave account must be done through Brave browser and you will not want to be in private browsing mode.

  1. Launch Brave on your Android device
  2. In Brave, navigate to Settings → Brave Firewall + VPN
  3. Tap the Link purchase to your Brave account option on this page
  4. You will then be redirected to account.brave.com – please login on your Android device by putting in the email for your Brave account, and tapping on the link in the email received. Please be sure when you tap that the link opens within Brave Browser. If you have a different browser set as your default, you will want to copy and paste the link into Brave instead of tapping on it.
  5. In your account, tap Connect my subscription now to add your existing subscription to your Brave account.

Once you finish this, you should be able to move to your desktop, login on the desktop to the same Brave account and select “Refresh Brave VPN” in order to access the subscription on your desktop.

I did exactly that, I opened Gmail in brave to make sure it would not redirect and it still failed to connect.

I followed these steps many times. In the end always failing. @GuardianTeam

I am having the same issue.
first it says to login.
I login
i press refresh brave VPN and nothing happens.
What is even refresh vpn do?

Any solution since i see complaints since JUl 23.

I am on desktop.

Despite numerous exchanges with Brave Support via email, no solution has been provided to date. Although my purchases are visible in my Google subscriptions, the Brave account page still shows the message ‘You don’t have any active plans.’ I can only use the VPN on my mobile phone (interestingly). Despite trying all the suggested methods repeatedly, I couldn’t link the purchase to my Brave account. I can’t use it on my desktop computers at all. I deeply regret purchasing Brave VPN."
