Anytime you uninstall and reinstall Brave, or format your device, the old wallet is no longer accessible and Brave now sees that device as a new wallet. Any BAT that was not already transferred to a verified wallet is lost. If you are getting a Device Limit error, you can solve that with this link. Sorry for the crappy news.
