I cannot save files to desktop Windows 10

All of a sudden (within the last 2-3 weeks) I have been unable to save files to my Music, Pictures and documents folders when using Brave. I am using Windows 10 1909 on a Dell 64 bit laptop. I have 200 Gb of available space so that is not the problem. All user/administrator have full read/write access to all folders.

I can save to Downloads, desktop and several other regularly used folders, but not the ones I indicated above.

Also, I have no problem when using Chrome, only Brave, so I assume there is a privacy/security issue that I can’t locate.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. attempt to download photos from internet to Pictures folder
  2. compare your settings to mine to see if there is a security setting that needs to be changed

When you say:

Does nothing happen when you download the files? Do you get an error messages or any indication that the download happened?
Can you create a new profile and downloading files to the listed folders?
Click on the menu icon in the top right corner > create a new profile.
