Downloads not working on desktop

Unable to download files, only get tmp files, no pop-up to choose folder either, both download location set and ‘ask where’ toggled on :
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Attempt to download a file
  2. check in the download folder
  3. see the tmps

** Version 1.63.174 Chromium: 122.0.6261.128 (Official Build) (64-bit)**

I’m on Windows 10. I have 500GB free space. I tried to use different browsers for downloading: Edge & Chrome. No issues. Just the issue with Brave.
