High CPU Usage on BTOD.com

Description of the issue:
High CPU usage when visiting two BTOD.com URLs in two separate tabs.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to https://www.btod.com/blog/best-standing-desk AND https://www.btod.com/blog/most-stable-standing-desks/ at the same time and observe high CPU usage.

Expected result:

Normal CPU usage. Chrome sits at <10% CPU usage when visiting these sites at the same time.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.8.78 Chromium: 81.0.4044.92 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

macOS 10.15.4

I’m seeing this as well. It is a WordPress site using the htmag theme… and my guess is that there is some plugin that has gone wonky and is in some endless loop and just eating up machine cycles inside the browser. There must be some code in Chrome that catches this that was taken out in Brave. If you put the shields down the CPU usage drops to normal (almost zero.)
