Hello,
I get the following error come up when trying to update Brave. An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 4: 0x80070005 – system level).
I run windows 8.1 64bit.
Any help would be great.

Try close Brave and any Brave related processes from Task Manager. Reopen Brave > try update again.
