Brave Update error

Description of the issue:
Unable to update Brave browser

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Opening “About Brave”
  2. Wait for “Checking for Updates”
  3. Allow brave to make changes to computer
  4. The message " An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 4: [0x80070005] – system level)…" will appear soon after.

Expected result:
No error, latest update.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.42.95 Chromium: 104.0.5112.81 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I always keep a copy of the Brave install program on my computer, since it updates from the server to get the most updated version. Download it from Brave’s homepage and run it. It should update your browser.
