Fail to update brave browser

Description of the issue:

  • Failure on update checking.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Updating via the setting tab of the browser

Expected result:

  • An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x80004002 – system level)

Brave Version( check About Brave):
-Version 145.123

Additional Information:

  • Running brave on Windows 11 Version 22H2
  • Having reinstalled brave the error that occurred persisted.

Have you tried rebooting at all? There is a background service that handles the updating, it could be in a bad state.

you can download the latest version at brave homepage and install it again. It is not necessary to remove the old version.
